Waiting...

I have been too distracted to keep up with my blog lately, and recently my camera broke, so I have not been able to shoot newer work. So the painting above is an older one, from last year. I saw it at the Dowling Walsh Gallery today and thought it would be a good image to re-post. My wife and I are still waiting for our daughter to show up. The due date is tomorrow and we think we are close. I have been doing work around the house to try to get ready for her arrival, and I think we are in good shape. I’ve managed to get a little painting done also, and I am happy with some of the new work. I know things will get harder to keep up with soon, but I will try to continue getting some posts up… and some new images.

Help Carol Marine...

Many of you may know this already, but a friend of mine, Carol Marine, has lost her new home and studio to a wildfire in Texas. She is a great painter whose work I have mentioned here a few times, and she is also a really great person. Carol, her husband and her young son are now living in their RV as they figure out what their next step will be. There are a few ways to help support her. One is through an online fundraiser and the other is through Galleria Gardner in Mexico, who has a few of Carol’s paintings for sale and is waving their commission so that all of the money from the sale will go directly to Carol and her family. I am a big fan of Carol’s paintings so this sounds like a great way to help out. You can see the paintings on the facebook page for Galeria Gardner. I also am good friends with Frank Gardner, who owns the gallery and I really like his idea for helping Carol out. It’s a great way for him to use his gallery to support an artist in need.

In news around here, our baby is due just about any day now, so Elizabeth and I are busy trying to get ready for that. We have been working on the house and wrapping up projects. I have a few things I want to finish up in the studio, but for the most part I think we are about ready. It’s really a great time of year here in Maine as the weather cools off and things get quieter in town.
