This is about 20×48″, and was painted out in Hope on a friend’s property. I had fun with the brushwork and color on the back half of the truck, as compared to the realism on the front half. While looking for a good vantage point for this painting, I found that I liked being close to the truck, which gave me a kind of fish-eye lens perspective. This makes for an odd composition, but I like it.

Wow, that is a killer painting.
Thanks Frank. Glad you like it. I had some serious doubts about this one. Sometimes it’s hard to know how a painting came out until I have given it some time.
Me too. I think it’s great. The curvature in the composition is so unexpected and it works. It’s also an interesting statement about how the eye views things up close and how things shift when we turn to look at things to the left and right in our peripheral vision. It’s cool.
