Apple tree in winter...

This apple tree in my front yard has some great branches and lots of character. The other day I was painting it with fresh snow stuck to the branches and just the last bit of light catching parts of the tree.  It was fun to play with the line quality and subtle color variations on this one.

Amazing how a little blue and a little ochre equals a lot of sparkle.
A very Happy New Year to you and to your family!

You never disappoint! It amazes me how you can take a subject so simple and make it truly spectacular… the background is fabulous! Absolutely perfect! Happy New Year Colin!

Thanks everyone. I really like this tree, but can only seem to find a good composition for it when I zoom into a closer view of the branches. It was fun doing it with some fresh snow too.
