I’m on Cape Cod for the weekend to attend the reception for a show of my work at the Addison Gallery, along with two other painters, Jeff Bonasia and Marc Knudmann. The reception was this evening, and was alot of fun. I met some great people, and enjoyed seeing some of Jeff’s and Marc’s new paintings. If you are coming to the cape anytime soon, you should stop by and see the show. www.addisonart.com
The painting above is at the gallery along with several paintings of the cape and several Maine scenes.
This trip is short, because I have to hustle back to Maine to get ready for a quick visit in Michigan next weekend, on my way to spending a week in Wisconsin at the Door County Plein Air Festival. This is my first time being a part of one of these week long festivals, but I’m really excited to see how it goes. I, along with 39 other invited artists, will be painting landscapes on site and attending alot of events to help promote the festival, and the show of our work at the end of the week. I know of a few other artists whose work I follow, that will also be participating. It should be a good event, and if you want to find out a little more about it you can check their website, www.doorcoutypleinair.com

Hey Colin, if you ever get a chance to spend some time in MI let me know, my parents live on the North Channel (big river across from Canada); we just got back last night, took lots of pictures to paint, great to go around in the boat and take some awesome pictures! They would love to have you! We’re in ME 9/12-9/26 – hope to see you!
Just took a look at your paintings on the Addison Gallery site. They are beautiful, so full of light, so silky, and colorful. I don’t know how you make all the different kinds of scenes (flower closeups, boats, people on the street) look so compelling. A great show. Looking forward to your next calls in Damariscotta – Bobbi
Your garden (flower) paintings have an especially strong abstract appeal and really highlight your distinctive brushwork.
Beautiful!
Oh, Colin.
These garden paintings just take my breath away. Such strong composition and lively brushwork! Sparkle! Pizazz! Slammin’ work!
A beautiful garden painting. Good luck w/ this show. Hopefully, someday I’ll get to another one…the F.A.N. was great; I’m sure this one is, too.
your color use is amazing,If I may call you current day Monet.
