“Blue Dairy” 24 X 20”
I have a show comng up in Newy York. It’s a one night event on October 25th from 6-10pm. If you want to find out more about this, you can visit the website:

I will have a mix of subject matter… some landscapes and some still lifes. The two play off each other in interesting ways, because the still life compositions are a very shallow space with alot of focus on the decorative patterns in the tablecloth, as opposed to the landscapes which tend to depict a much deeper sense of space. When I paint landscapes I’m looking for order in a scene as I try to compose the painting. With the still life, I’m looking for the same things, but my hand is involved in creating the actual scene too, so I can play around with different arrangements. The two also have different intensities of color. With all of those differences, I love to see how similar the paintings are and how well they relate to each other. Sometimes when I see them in my studio, I like to think of them as siblings. They play off of each other in interesting ways.
