“Valley” 32 X 32”
This weekend is the workshop I’ll be teaching aboard the Schooner Roseway. I’m looking forward to doing alot of painting. I think it’s going to be alot of fun spending a few days helping people strengthen their paintings. We still have a few spots open so if anyone is interested in a last minute painting trip get in touch.
Yesterday there was a half mile race in Hobbs Pond, in Hope, Maine. Kathy and I swam it with a bunch of our friends. We both enjoyed it and did pretty well. It took me 10 minutes and 9 seconds. That’s not a great time, but I was pretty happy with it.
We’ve also been trying to put our yard back into decent shape. We spent a bit of time this weekend weeding and Kathy mowed the lawn. Neither of those things had happened in a long time so the yard was looking pretty rough. Everything looks much nicer this morning, and we’re hoping we’ll be able to stay on top of everything now. We always have a tough time keeping up with our chores in the summer.
Also, I’ve been asked to pariticipate in a panel discussion this fall with several other artists talking about creating art. So I’ve been kicking around some ideas about our topic while I’m painting. This should be an interesting experience. I’m getting slightly more comfortable with public speaking, and this will be one more chance to work on that.
This week’s looking hit or miss with the weather, so I’ll be spending some time in the studio preparing canvases, and watching the sky for sunny patches… so I can paint!
