I’m sick of how inaccurate the weather forecast always is. Everyday this week they have forecast cloudy skys and rain, and everyday I’ve woken up to sunny skies. Since I paint outside whenever the weather is nice, I’m planning my days based on what the forecast is. Cloudy skies put me in the studio making frames and stretching canvas, and sunny skies send me out looking for something to paint. I’m sick of how random these forecasts really seem to be. I’ve always felt more than two days out and you may as well just flip a coin and let that decide what the forecast is, but I used to find it useful for planning the next day or two. Oh well.
Yesterday I got some new images uploaded into “Available Paintings” I think I put up 15 or 20 of them. I also took down paintings that I know have sold. If you have time to check them out you can see some new work there.
Tomorrow night is the big open gallery night in Rockland. All of the galleries have receptions and the whole town is hopping. If you are in mid-coast Maine you should check it out. Dowling Walsh Gallery will have a few of my paintings up giving a little taste of what’s to come with my solo show there (opening June 18). The opening receptions re from 5-8 tomorrow, Friday night.
I have a few more paintings I’m finishing up for the solo show in June. One is a self portrait I’ve been working on standing outside my studio with fields of grass behind me. It’s fairly colorful and fun, and I’m pretty excited about it. Once it dries up a bit I’ll try to get a good photo and put it up here.
Oh and in the garden, we’re eating asparagus, and have the potatoes planted. All of the other seeldings are getting hardened off for planting this weekend. Everything’s looking pretty good these days.
