I'm excited to be participating in the California Art Club's 107th Gold Medal Exhibition. It's a huge honor to be include with so many great painters. This still life is one of the most difficult tabletop scenes I've painted. I thought the red and white striped tablecloth would be a fun and active backdrop for the objects, but it turned out to be a huge pain in the butt to paint. (probably should have figured that out beforehand.) After putting in all of that work, I'm very happy with how it all came together. "Candy Striped" 48x36" oil on canvas $11,500
The exhibition will hang from June 10-July 1 at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles. The gala receptions is Saturday, June 9 at 7pm. Click on the link to learn more.
